Announcing My New Searchable Portfolio

I am so excited to announce that I have revamped my portfolio, moving it from a static table to a dynamic, searchable database! You can access my new portfolio at https://bit.ly/relrom_portfolio, using the password “portfolio”.

I’ve selected Airtable to host my portfolio. Airtable is an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled software as a service (SaaS) platform for organizing operations and information. When used as a virtual library, the platform resembles SharePoint in its layout and its search and taxonomy capabilities.

See the new Searchable Portfolio page to learn more about what’s in the portfolio and how to use it.

This endeavor was a major undertaking, but super beneficial in multiple ways.

  • I explored several SaaS platforms before choosing Airtable, including Notion, which I tested extensively. This process allowed me to widen my repertoire of information and knowledge management platforms and processes, which will serve my clients and employers going forward.
  • I uploaded 119 pieces to the database and tagged them. (This is just one-tenth of my full portfolio! The rest, such as client reports and proposals, remain confidential.) The process took several days and required me to rethink, retool, and reorganize the categories and tags until I found the right fits. It was an excellent hands-on exercise in information architecture.
  • Some of the pieces are no longer available online since USAID’s project closures. The pieces may be of special interest to the staff and organizations that helped create them. You’re welcome to download anything in my portfolio that you worked on or that belongs to your organization!
  • Most importantly, moving my portfolio to a searchable SaaS platform makes it much easier for you—the user—to find what matters. Whereas my old portfolio only had a limited keyword search, the new portfolio lets you filter by nine tag categories, including topic, client, and my role on each piece.

I hope you will take some time to look through my new portfolio and let me know what you think in the comments. I welcome your feedback!
